Family Vacation

We went to Colorado last week for a wedding and had so much fun. Brooklyn was so good on the airplane. She cried maybe 10 minutes each way (mainly due to being overly tired, and extremly hot.) We had to take a tiny plane from Phoenix to Durango, and when we were boarding it was about 103 degrees. It was one of those planes you have to walk out on the runway to get to. I would have cried too. Then on the way home, it was about 10pm at night and our plane had already been delayed for an hour... Brooklyn was done. She cried for about 10 minutes and slept the rest of the way.

We had alot of fun while we were in Pagosa Springs. We hiked to a waterfall, went swimming in a mineral spa (stinky) attended a wedding and just spent a lot of time sight seeing. We were a little worried about where Brooklyn would sleep but we made a little bed on the floor with 2 dressers, the bed, and the wall to keep her in. She slept very well. We were able to stay in someones rental property and the view was beautiful.

Summer

Well it is the first day of summer vacation. Well someone forgot to tell Brooklyn because she was up at 5am this morning. Every night she sleeps between 10 and 11 hours straight and wakes up between 5:30 and 6am, but she goes to bed between 6:30 and 7:00pm. We will need to adjust her bedtime so that we can sleep in to at least 6 or 7am. Her schedule works so that we don't have to wake her in the morning for work... well we have no work now. :) At least for a while.

I am teaching summer school at the high school in July for 3 weeks and Tom is working at Palomar college for 5 weeks running summer camps. A little extra money doesn't hurt anyone. Especially when gas is $4.70 a gallon.

We are off to Colorado next week for a wedding. This will be Brooklyn's first plane ride. She is a great baby so she should be fine. We went to the doctor and her ears are good. Hopefully the sleeping arrangements will work out, as we are staying at someones house so we will have no crib. So little miss wiggly will be sleeping with us. Wish us luck!

Sunday afternoon

There is this store next to my gym called Children's Orchard. I have never gone in there thinking it was an expensive childrens botique. Well I went in there yesterday and found out that it is a used clothing store. It has the cutest things, it only buys brand name clothes that are in good condition. I got a cute Nike skirt, some gymboree outfits, a gap skirt and and others that are so cute. Here is one of the outfits... it was 4.99. What a deal! It looks brand new.
Of course the bow is from Bryndie. Anyway, you can take your old clothes and sell them to them for cash, or store credit. I already have a bag of stuff to take and shop some more.

Mother's Day Weekend

This is kinda a late post but oh well. I had a good mother's day. We spent the weekend with family. On Sat. night, Tom's brother and mom came over and we went out on our boat. Brooklyn thought she would drive.

Ear Infection

So Brooklyn has her first ear infection. She woke up this morning and had blood coming out of her ear. I called the doctor and Tom took her in. She is on antibiotics so hopefully that will clear it up. I have to say, Brooklyn is one tough cookie, she hasn't cried once or pulled at her ear. Her fever this weekend may have been a sign of the infection... and I thought it was teeth. Still has that toothless grin!

Fever

So here I am up at 2:30am on Sunday morning. Brooklyn has a fever... I think she is teething but who knows. She was up with a fever last night too. She has been up for an hour, I gave her Tylenol, rubbed her back, rocked her and finally put her down. She seems to be calming down now, but we will see. Wish me luck.

Crawling

So Brooklyn is now crawling... like a worm along the ground. She pulls forward with her hands then digs her toes into the ground and pushes forward. She gets up on her hands and knees easily and can go forward once then she collapses down to her belly. It is so fun to see her scoot across the floor.
She also loves standing, I have to constantly hold her hands so she can stand up, or I have to stand her against the couch or her toys so she can play. She is close to pulling herself up by herself.
